Volunteer Update & Champs Incentive Program
Hello Barracuda Families,
As we near the end of the season, we have just two dual meets remaining—against the Rio Del Oro Rapids and the Elk Grove Piranhas. I want to extend a sincere thank you to all who have stepped up to volunteer and have already reached the goal of 6 shifts or 24 points (most shifts are worth 4 points). Your support has been essential!
That said, we are still short on volunteers for several critical roles, particularly timers and ready bench, at these final meets. With nearly all families on track to meet their minimum requirements, we are feeling the impact of several factors this season: a smaller team than in years past, eight different swim events requiring volunteers, and the addition of new social coordinator roles to organize fun activities for each age group. All of these have increased the overall volunteer needs, and your help is more important than ever as we wrap up the season.
To help fill these key roles and reward those who go above and beyond, we’re introducing a Volunteer Incentive Program. Families who exceed the 24-point minimum will receive priority registration for Championship Meet jobs next month. Registration will open in tiers based on the total number of points worked:
- 40+ points
- 36 points
- 28–32 points
- 24 points
- 20 points or fewer
The more points you earn, the earlier your registration window—giving you the best chance to secure your preferred Champs shifts. Additional details on the timing of these registration periods will be shared once we receive our Champs assignments.
As a reminder, each family is required to complete 6–7 shifts during the regular season and 2–3 additional shifts at Champs. This requirement applies to all families, regardless of the number of meets attended or the age of your swimmer.
If you have any questions about your volunteer shifts or the incentive program, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.
Thank you for your continued support!
Best regards,
Nick Sweetnam
