Dear Barracudas Families,

We are looking forward to our next swim meet this Saturday in Elk Grove. Sign in for our swimmers is between 6:45 and 7:00 am. Please plan on an approximate driving time of 45 minutes. Event entries are posted on our webpage. Just log in to your webpage and go to the Elk Grove meet. It will show 3 events (2 events for 6 and under) listed including the seeding time.

We are in need for more volunteers for this Saturday (see message from Lisa G. below).

Swim Meet information:

All of our swim meets require that you sign your swimmer(s) in via our webpage. You will find all the meets listed on the front page sorted by date. Choose “attend the eventý and then you will be given the choice to pick swim events that your child would like to swim. You can either leave this option blank and have the coaches decide or you can pick up to 3 events (2 for our 6 and under swimmers). These events will give our coaches an idea what the child wants to swim, however it is not a guarantee to be placed in that event. By Friday the meet is written and you can log back in to our webpage and have a look at what events the coaches picked for your child. If you have any questions about this process please feel free to ask us.

Message from our Social Chairperson Karen McDonald:

Hey all you Barracudas- We have all seen or heard of the hit show "America's Got Talent" but let’s see about "Barracudas Got Talent". We are bringing back the popular event and it is being held on Thursday, June 24th on the club lawn area in the early evening. Please keep your eyes and ears out for more information to follow. There will be a sign up sheet for kids to sign up either as a single or group performance with some of the coaches acting as the judges. We will have an audio system for music. Please let your children know and have them begin thinking about what they want to do, we are hoping to get swimmers from all ages. Families please feel free to bring dinner and drinks or purchase from the cafe. This was such a fun event last year that we hope to make it an even more fun event this year.

Also, stay tuned for our Barracuda Family Fun Night scheduled for Wednesday, July 8th at the club. This is another annual fun event for the whole family. Please mark your calendars and more details to follow.

Message from our Volunteer Chairperson Lisa Gulino :

We had some last minute changes in the way the meet in Elk Grove is set up. The pool allows our kids to compete in 10 lanes versus 8 lanes. This requires extra timers for both shifts that we did not account for on registration night. We have been moving volunteers in the open spots and are trying to work it out with the volunteers who have signed up. But we don’t have our usual buffer of helpers for this coming Saturday. We would really appreciate if you can volunteer some extra time and help out. There will be a sign in sheet at the volunteer registration table in Elk Grove. Please put your name on the list if we can look for you in case we are running out of volunteers. A big THANKS in advance to all of you who go above and beyond to make our swim meets run smoothly.

Message from our Fundraising Chairperson Lori St.Denis and Anissa Konieczny:

We have ordered more JRRC Barracuda caps. They should be in any day and we will sell them on the pool deck during practice. Unfortunately it does not look as if they will make it to us on time for Saturday’s meet. Keep your eyes out for us selling caps next week.
