Dear Barracudas Families,
We hope you have
adjusted to the morning practice by now. We know it is especially early
for our little 6 and under swimmers, but they won’t be 6 forever

Details about our next meet in Davis on Saturday: This meet is a meet between 3 teams … Davis Aquamonsters, Rio Rapids and JRRC Barracudas. There are a few things that will be special/different than our regular dual meet setup: · The meet will start at 4:45pm, Warm-up starts at 3:45 and Sign in is between 3:15 and 3:30 (Times have changed from our previous webpage post) · The meet will be seeded by time. The number of swimmers per team in the heats will not be balanced. · Scoring will not be limited to the first heat. · There will be no medley relays. Instead we will be starting the meet with the free relays. · There will be no ready benches. This will require a lot of cooperation from all parents. Please assist in the age group tents as much as possible and have your swimmer ready a few events early. · We are expecting the meet to go past dinner time. The Davis Aquamonsters will offer dinner items at this event for sale. · Even with warmer temperatures predicted for the weekend be prepared for temperatures to drop once the sun sets. Bring sweaters, extra towels and some blankets/sleeping bags. Please ask us any questions you have about this setup so that we can avoid confusion and/or delays on Saturday. We are also looking for a few parent volunteers who can help with taking split times during the relay events.
Message from our Championship Chairperson Jim Sloan: Championship Program Advertisement You can now place your order for an advertisement in the Comstock Championships program. There are many options to choose from starting w/ a full page for $300 ranging to a horizontal business card size for $30. With the championships in Roseville this year, local businesses may benefit more from the ads then in years past. Orders need to be turned in to the league by July 9th so if you’re interested, please act fast. You can find the order form and ordering instructions on the team website: Go to the ‘Swim Meets’ drop down menu and select ‘Championship’. If you have any questions, direct them to Jim Sloan ( jcsloan@surewest.net) Please look out for more information about volunteer shifts coming soon.
Message from our Social Chairperson Karen McDonald: Our "Barracudas Got Talent" night is almost here. Please bring your own dinner and drinks or purchase from the cafe. Show starts at 7pm with dinner beforehand. We have our judges (coaches) selected and they are ready to go so we hope you are too with your performance. We will be having a system for music but it is best to bring your own music. There will be a check in table near the stage where we will ask for all participants to check in to see what time they will be performing. Also, we will have many props to dress up in if needed. Looking forward to this great event.
Next Tuesday, the 23rd is official "Olympic Day". We will be celebrating the anniversary of the 115th year of the modern Olympics at practice with a fun relay and medals to be awarded to the team that wins - just like the Olympics.
Lastly, mark your calendars for the "Barracuda Family Fun Nite" on July 8th. We will be bringing back many of our popular games from last year- money dive, coach John relay, the greasy watermelon water polo, and others!
Please check the upcoming events list and the social calendar for our upcoming fun events.
Message from our Volunteer Chairperson Lisa Gulino:
We just want to remind you that every family has to sign up for a
minimum of 5 volunteer shifts per season. This does not include your
volunteer shifts at the Championships. Please have a look and confirm
your volunteer commitment via our webpage. You know how many shifts you
have done so far and you can go into any future meet and check if you
have shifts assigned. While doing this please have a look at the blank
spots. We really appreciate if you can step up and help us fill some of
the spots. Your volunteer work makes the meet run smooth and fast. We
could not do it without your help. Rumor has it there will be beads for
extra shifts
Message from our Fundraising Chairperson Lori St.Denisand Anissa Konieczny: We would like to thank all of our sponsors:
Message from the Board: We are looking for parents who would like to join our board for the next season. Please contact any board member if you have questions about the different positions. This is a very rewarding volunteer opportunity for one of the greatest swim teams around.
