Dear Barracudas Families,

Here are a few announcements regarding upcoming events:

Message from Coach John:

"National Tie Day" is actually on December 14. We will be celebrating our own version on April 22nd :

"National Wear a Tie to Swim Practice Day", observed at JRRC swim practice -  but hopefully this tradition will spread.

Message from our Social Chairperson Karen McDonald:

We hope the 6 and unders were enjoying their 'get to know each other' social tonight at Roundtable Table pizza. Don't forget to check the social calendar on the website for the other age group socials coming up.

The Kick Off party after the swim-a-thon is approaching soon. Please read the flyers on the doors and check your swimmer's folder for more info. We will be having dinner options for families. You may bring your own picnic dinner, order from the usual cafe menu or purchase a meal deal from the cafe's BBQ of either a hamburger or hotdog or Dos Coyotes will be selling meal deals on the pool deck as well. We will be posting a sign-up sheet on the pool deck to get some sort of idea how many meal deals will be needed for both the cafe and Dos Coyotes. More information will follow and please look for the flyers.

Message from our Fundraising Chairperson Lori St.Denis and Anissa Konieczny

Please come join us for the JRRC Barracudas’ Swim-A-Thon on Friday, May 1.  This is our ONE major fundraiser for the season.  Swimmers get sponsored by family members and friends to swim laps to help raise money for the team.  Swimmers will swim during practice times.  Please check your folders in the file boxes on deck to get your pledge envelopes and information sheets.

The adjusted practice schedule is:

Level  1   3:45pm  -4:00pm

Level  2   4:10pm  -4:40pm

Level  3   4:50pm  -5:20pm

Level  4   5:30pm   -6:00pm

Please be on deck 10 minutes early and bring your pledge card with you if you have not turned it in already.  Parent volunteers are needed to help count laps.  Please sign up on the Swim-A-Thon volunteer lists posted on the glass windows by the café if you can help.  Prizes will be awarded to participating swimmers.

Immediately following the Swim-A-Thon is the Barracuda Kick-Off Party.

Message from our League Chairperson Jenni Sanders:

If you have not picked up your bathing suit then please contact the Norcal Swimshop @ (916) 771-7946 to check on your order. They are located at 120 Sunrise Ave. (corner of Douglas Blvd). They can also help if you have not ordered a team suit yet, but there will be no guarantee that suits ordered now will be available for our first swim meet.

As usual … feel free to contact any board member if you have questions, suggestions or concerns.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Steffi Jones-Communications Chair
