If you have any questions about air quality and your child’s participation at practice, we recommend that you contact your physician.

A special thanks to Sandee Darragh and John Schoeppach for helping with entering all results manually that became necessary after a computer problem prevented it to load the swim results automatically into the computer. We appreciate your and all volunteer's help! The Rio board and coaches would like to extend their thanks to our team for our patience while they were troubleshooting a computer problem that prevented the meet to start on time.

Our next meet is on Saturday, June 14th at our pool against Elverta/Rio Linda. Please sign in/out in the blue binder by Tuesday night.
Volunteer assignment is already posted for this meet here.

Time Trials results are posted here

me important reminders:

  1. Time Trials kick off the season this Saturday May 10.  PLEASE FILL OUT THE SIGN IN/OUT BINDER to tell us if your swimmer(s) will be attending the meets.  All meets are listed in the binder so if you know your schedule you can complete the sign in/outs for the entire season.  Swimmers must be signed in or out of each meet by the TUESDAY preceding the meet.  This is VERY important if you want your swimmer to be included in swim meets.  The Sign In/Out binder is located on one of the tables on the pool deck, usually next to the swimmer folders. Keep in mind that Time Trials and Championships are mandatory and you may not miss more than 2 of the remaining swim meets per season.
  2. Entries to the Rio Del Oro Invitational are due FRIDAY MAY 9 – by mail.  The entry form can be downloaded here.  Entries can be hand delivered to Rio Del Oro Racquet Club front desk by Monday May 14.  Late entries will be handled as deck entries, but there will be no guarantees as to a spot in the race. Relay entries will be decided on the day of the meet based on attendance and coaches' choice.
  3. A reminder that starts Saturday – Check-in for swim meets runs from 6:45 – 7:00am PLEASE do not be late because swimmers not checked in by 7:00 will be scratched from the meet.

Welcome to Swim Team 2008

We are looking forward to seeing all your kids smiling goggle faces, new and old!  We can't wait to get started and now it won't be long.  We look forward to a year where everyone has success and contributes to the making of a great team.

Do you know what time to bring your swimmer?  We will be evaluating them on their swim abilities in the first two weeks and moving them to a level that is appropriate for their ability.  So until you are notified by the coaches otherwise, the following guideline has been set up.

6 and under 3:35 - 4:15
7 and 8 4:05 - 5:00
9 and 10 4:50 - 6:00
11 and up 5:50 - 7:30

We may be moving your swimmer into a different level (practice time), as we see needed.  We also want to emphasize that once your child is placed in a particular level, we will expect to see them at practice in only that level.

What if it is raining? We will have practice if it is raining as long as there is no lightning.

If you have any questions for the coaches, please e-mail us (click here for a list of email addresses) or you can try to catch us in between practices.

Please try to have your kids come on time and make sure they have goggles, fins (no zoomers) and swimsuits that are appropriate for swimteam practice.  (Please do not come in trunks or 2 pieces and make sure the goggles fit properly).  Many of these items are available at the NorCal Swim Shop in Roseville. Please bring your own towels each day to swim practice because the club would prefer us to do this, thank you. On that note, Wednesday April 9th we are going to have a CRAZY Towel Day.  Please have your swimmer bring the craziest or most favorite towel to swim practice.  Have them bring them out for the dry land training (time spent on the pool deck before getting in the pool), and lay them out for everyone to see.

Check out the website for many resources and the swim calendar with upcoming age group social events in April.  We would love to see your kids attend these!

Go Barracudas!!

Your Coaches
